What is ABA Therapy?
ABA Therapy stands for Applied Behavior Analysis. It is the type of psychology that a Licensed Behavior Analyst and/or Board Certified Behavior Analyst practices. Applied Behavior Analysis is a problem solving approach looking at the relationship with the environment. It focuses on producing measurable behavior change and is action based, giving the client tools and skills, a plan to journey toward and meet the goals that are set. The strategies and interventions used are scientifically research based and systematically applied.
Who is ABA appropriate for?
Applied Behavior Analysis is highly success for everyone! It is also recognized by the US Surgeon General and the American Academy of Pediatrics as the gold standard referred for individuals with Autism and challenging behaviors. ABA is very successful for individuals of all ages and a variety of psychological diagnosis and challenges including anxiety, substance abuse, weight loss, sleep disorders, etc... It reduces challenging behaviors while supporting communication, social skills, adaptive skills, fine motor, education readiness, and an overall healthy behavioral relationship with the environment.
The field of ABA is commonly applied in all aspects of psychology including Organizational. Organizational Psychology utilizes the foundational study of Behavioral Analysis. What is an LBA and BCBA?
A qualified Applied Behavior Analyst is a Licensed Clinical Practitioner with additional training and experience in Applied Behavior Analysis. The Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) grants certification. An LBA has to hold a Master’s or Doctorate degree in Psychology or related field, complete additional behavioral course work, 1800 clinical hours with practicum, along with a rigorous licensing examination. Re-certification with continuing education every 2 years is required.
What is an RBT?
An RBT is a Registered Behavior Technician, sometimes called a Behavior Therapist. A Registered Behavior Technician is licensed, works under the supervision while carrying out behavior plans of the BCBA/LBA. An RBT undergoes required course work, practicum, and licensing exam along with required regular recertification.
What approach do you use?

In content learning skills, we typically use errorless learning strategy. Prompts and supports are also given when needed to reduce challenging behaviors and promote a positive learning environment.
Replacement Behaviors are consistently taught in all plans. (A Replacement Behavior is a behavior the individual or organization can engage in rather than the barrier behavior)
